Bennetts Driver is an internal app provided by Berkshire Haulage Ltd (“Bennetts”, “we”) solely for its employed drivers. It cannot be used by the public and has no public signup.
What we collect
When you use the app with your company-issued Driver ID and PIN, the app sends the following to our own systems (api.portalbhl.com): your Driver ID and authentication tokens; job progress and status updates; DVSA walkaround check results, odometer readings and your signed declaration; proof-of-delivery photos and signatures; expense claims and receipt photos; leave requests; and work-time records for your driving day. The app also sends first-party crash reports (an error message, stack trace and app version) to our own systems so we can fix faults; these are associated with your driver account. Driving statistics shown in the app come from our vehicle telematics provider (Samsara) and relate to company vehicles. The app also shows company documents and the qualifications the company holds on record for you.
When you capture proof of delivery, the app also records the receiving person's name and signature, and optionally an email address they provide to receive their POD copy. This information is used solely to evidence and confirm delivery.
What we do not collect
The app does not access your device's location. It contains no advertising, no third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, and no in-app purchases. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing. Data is used only for operating our haulage business and meeting our legal obligations (including DVSA roadworthiness and HMRC record-keeping requirements).
Storage and retention
Data is stored on our own systems. Your sign-in token is stored securely in the device keychain. Operational records (deliveries, vehicle checks, expenses) are retained for as long as required for business and legal record-keeping, and personal accounts are deactivated when employment ends.
